Pixel 9 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro, OnePlus 13. Tested all three across 14 days of travel from Kerala to Ladakh. Here is which phone won — and where each fell apart.
Across 14 days of mixed conditions — Kerala backwaters golden hour, Ladakh high-altitude noon, Mumbai street nights — three flagship phones each won and lost in different scenarios. Pixel 9 Pro had the best dynamic range in challenging light (backwaters at sunrise). iPhone 16 Pro held color accuracy best in bright daylight. OnePlus 13's Hasselblad processing pulled ahead in low light. What surprised: all three failed at extreme low-light scenes where you'd expect mobile phones to excel. A Rs 35K Sony A6400 with 16-50mm kit lens still beat all three for street photography in actual darkness. If you're buying for travel: Pixel 9 Pro for landscape-heavy trips, iPhone 16 Pro for video-first creators, OnePlus 13 for value at 60-70% of the iPhone price. Skip the camera-phone hype if you already own a real camera.
